Airbnb Guest Review Templates for Hosts

A useful host review of a guest is two to four sentences: what went well, one concrete fact, and a sign-off. This page gives templates for reviewing guests, replying to guest reviews, and asking for feedback politely. Edit them so they sound like you and keep them true to what happened.
Rules that apply to every template
- Be honest and specific. Only write what you can stand behind.
- Keep it short. Future hosts skim.
- Leave out personal details such as full names, health, family or anything that identifies someone unnecessarily.
- Do not trade ratings or offer rewards for a review. Check your platform's current policy.
- Do not copy and paste the same line for everyone. Change a detail so each review reflects the stay.

Excellent stay
[First name] was a pleasure to host. Communication was clear, check-in was smooth and the place was left tidy. We would be happy to welcome them again.
Good stay, minor issue
[First name] followed the house rules and was easy to coordinate with. A couple of small items needed attention after check-out, but nothing major. Recommended to other hosts.
Short stay, minimal contact
A quiet stay with little contact, which suited everything we agreed. The home was left in good condition.
Family or group
[First name] and their group were respectful of the space and our neighbors. Check-out was on time and the place was easy to turn over.
Long stay
A great long-stay guest. Communication was prompt, they kept the home in good shape and any maintenance needs were reported early.
Difficult stay (stay factual)
The stay did not follow the arrangement we agreed on in the booking: [one factual line, e.g., the number of guests / check-out time]. We communicated about it and kept things civil. We hope this feedback is useful to other hosts.
If a stay was serious, report it through the platform's proper channel instead of writing a long review.
Templates: replying to a guest review
Thank-you reply
Thank you, [first name]! We are glad you enjoyed [specific detail they mentioned]. You are always welcome back.
Reply to a mixed review
Thank you for the honest feedback. We have noted [issue] and [what you changed]. We appreciate you helping us improve.
Reply to a negative review
Thank you for sharing this, [first name]. We are sorry [specific issue] did not meet your expectations. [One factual line.] We have [action taken]. We wish you safe travels.
Reply when you disagree
We appreciate the feedback. For other guests' information: [short factual clarification, no blame]. We aim to give every guest a clear and comfortable stay.
Write replies for the people who will read them later. A calm, specific answer helps a future guest more than an argument does.
Asking for feedback politely
The best time to ask is at check-out, in your message or through a feedback form in the welcome book:
Thank you for staying with us! If you have a minute, we would value your honest feedback, both what worked and what we could do better.
Do not offer discounts, gifts or anything else in exchange for a particular review.
Using feedback to improve
Keep a simple list: date, property, comment, action. If three guests mention the same thing, such as a hard-to-find entrance, a missing plug adapter or a noisy fridge, fix it and note the date. Patterns appear quickly when comments are in one place. Our house rules guide and check-out guide cover two common sources of friction.
Timing
Write the review soon after check-out while details are fresh. Set aside a regular time, for example the morning after each departure, and keep a short list of your templates in one document.
