Printable Airbnb Signs: Wi-Fi, Welcome, Check-Out and House Rules

Place signs where the question arises: Wi-Fi by the router, check-out by the door, thermostat by the thermostat and trash by the bins. Fewer, well-placed signs work better than many. This list covers the signs most hosts use, what to write, where to put them and how to print them.
Signs to start with
| Sign | Where | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome | Entry or table | A friendly greeting and the home's name |
| Wi-Fi | Near the router or on the fridge | Network name and password |
| Check-out | By the door | Time and 3-4 simple steps |
| House rules | Entry or living area | The top 4-5 rules |
| Quiet hours | Near entry or outside | The hours and a friendly reason |
| No smoking | Door or balcony | Where smoking is allowed |
| Trash and recycling | By the bins | Which goes where, and collection day |
| Thermostat | Next to it | How to set it, limits you have chosen |
| Lock and key | By the door | What to do at departure |

Writing a good sign
- One message per sign.
- Large font, short words.
- A friendly tone ("Please remove shoes. Thank you!").
- An icon or simple picture.
- Contrasting colors for readability.
Compare the rules page in your house rules guide to the signs you display: they should say the same thing.
Placement tips
- At eye level, around 150 cm or 5 feet.
- Away from direct sunlight, which fades paper.
- In frames or sleeves, not taped, to avoid marks.
- In rooms where water is used, use a laminated sign.
- Review every few months and remove signs that are no longer needed.
Printing tips
- US Letter or A4 for entry and wall signs, 5x7 for tables and shelves.
- Check your printer's margins before printing the full set.
- Use heavier paper (about 200 gsm or 65 lb) for signs you keep.
- A cheap frame makes a printed sign look finished.
- Print a spare set to swap in when one gets damaged.
Branding your signs
Use one or two fonts and one accent color. Add your home's name if you want. Keep it consistent across signs, the welcome book and cards. Our house manual guide shows how signs and the manual work together.
Check-out signs
A check-out sign saves a message. Put the time and the steps next to the door, and match them to your check-out instructions.
